CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Share
The true story of a real fake.

Do I have to say a word about a Steven Spielberg movie? I guess so. But mix Steven with Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio and what do you have? This great movie experience.

Catch Me if You Can (USA, 2002) tells the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr. (DiCaprio), a young boy that runs away after discovering that his parents are going to divorce. He wins his life as... pretty much every job. Including his favorite: stealing.

He created a different way to do it: instead of just falsifying checks, he also changes the small numbers in it so that it will travel around the country before people would realize that it is a bad check. Frank starts doing it so much that he starts pretending he is an actual employee of the air company he is stealing.

Carl Hanratty (Hanks) is the guy responsible to put Frank in jail. The problem is that Frank is too smart for Carl and, a lot of times, he sneaks out of the situation quite easily. Frank, before having his 19th birthday, conned millions of dollars worth of checks as a PanAm pilot, doctor, and legal prosecutor.

Catch Me if You Can is a really smart film. The type of movie that, in some cases, is needed to be watched again and again (the Steven Spielberg type ;D)

I recommend it.
